Really doesn't matter as SFA proved yet again (and without its starting QB) that they're a T10 team along with MD, DV, BG and OLu.

So you're saying a 3 loss team deserves a top 10 ranking? Or you're saying they're top 10 in Maryland?

YES!!! If SFA doesn't deserve a T10 slot, than DV doesn't either.

However, IF OLu slips today vs SC, SFAs fate will change.

Losing to teams ranked higher than you is NEVER a bad thing!

two years in a row with very competitive games

1) Last year was absolutely competitive, but MD was in charge last night from start to finish, and the outcome was never in doubt.  Totally different vibe from last season’s game.

2) Yes, a number of MD starters were still in til the end, but the team that wants to save face is, of course, going to play harder in the waning seconds than the team that knows the game’s in the bag and doesn’t want to risk a pointless injury.  Exhibit A: BG vs MD  Exhibit B: SFA vs MD

3) You’re probably right that both SFA and DV are top 10 teams, but that says more about how relatively weak the field is this year, and how significantly better MD is than all of them.

If the SFA starting QB was available, those three INTs never happen. The SFA D played even better than in last season's game. That goal line stand and caused fumble on the 1 was impressive to say the least.

You are off on this take.   MD would be up 25-0 vs. Duncanville too.   Highly doubt anyone in the country is beating, or maybe even within 2 scores of MD this year.

Wasn’t all that impressed by this effort.

Defense is good.  Only 1 drive all night and that was the opening drive.

Yes, they are good!  But not like some teams they had in the past.

And if MD’s WR1 and RB1 were available, yada, yada, yada.  No fumble on the 1 and it’s even more lopsided.  We agree to disagree.  I have always admired SFA’s heart, though.  Yes, they were better under Biff, but their tenacity has been rock solid consistent.  Pretty impressive, actually, for a bunch of teenagers who could easily get discouraged with the losses that come with the meat grinder schedule they play.  Respect.

9 straight road games. And three T10 losses by a combined 17 points. The SFA program is special.

I think it’s more the kids are special.  (And the school, of course, for the life-changing difference it’s making in their lives.)  With better coaching, those kids are taking scalps…

As of today how many other teams in USA would be 2-0 vs BG and SFA. I say none.

Maybe IMG on two really good days, but you’re probably right.  Definitely not OLu… 😉

For comparison sake:

MD 31    BG   15

MD 25   SFA  14  (without starting QB)

OOS games are the great equalizers!!!

Starting QB did play - he came in for a couple of plays in the second half - so either he was banged up or benched? but then never came back in.

Agreed that SFA is a good team, but maybe not Top 10.   At this point in the season a Top 10 team needs a Top 20 win.

Agree - SFA is about top 12-15.. If they could get an offense or throw more consistent. Defense is solid.

DV's not beating BG, if that's what you're wondering.  Took all they had to squeak by SFA.

All but 7 points were gifted to them.

DV has some outstanding talent and in some areas it’s better than MD!  Especially QB and WR’s!
